Lightning strikes the same place twice rarely but more likely if you're holding up a metal rod in a field in the rain

Normally we don't want something to happen again. Unless it's something good. So it's not the fact something happens again that is important, it is what that thing is. It's less likely we will make the same mistake twice if we do thing differently the second time around. And we will likely not achieve the same outcome if we do things differently
So why do we do the opposite?
How many times you've find yourself trying to make that thing work again by doing something different. Or doing the same thing, believing that things will work out differently this time around. How important is consistency and why do we apply it inconsistently?
Insanity is both Doing the same thing expecting the same outcome AND Doing it differently and expecting thes

This form of saying is what I call the tangent. It's taking a well known saying or common sense notion and adding an exclusion at the end that proves the saying otherwise. Or adding a reason or way that the saying is not right.
It is very light or dry humor but in capable hands, it can be sly and witty.

A great master begins with the mastery of one

Sort of the opposite of the phrase, "jack of all trades, master of none."
Was "Journey of Jack of all Trades begins with the mastery one."

People who don't want to try something because they are afraid they are not good at it, will always wait. But when is someone good at it the first time, all the time?
So try. Be good at it. Repeat.

Want less, fulfilled sooner

Why is it the more we crave, the less content we feel? Everywhere around us, everything tells us to ask for more, aim higher and get more stuff. But does stuff actually fills that hole? Or does it just make it feel deeper, more space to stuff things in. If fulfillment is what we seek, maybe we should do the logical thing. What is shorter than a straight line between two points? A shorter line. So maybe we should stop along the way to that second point. Make more points. Make a shorter line. In short, want less. If we want less, it's likely we can get what we want sooner. Be satisfied sooner. Fulfilled earlier.  And because we are human, we will want more later. Another point along they way. And another. And another. till we reach the other point.

Idiots must understand the difference between being righteous and being right.

Being righteous sometime means being wrong sometime, too. Being right means you are right all the time. Being Right doesn't mean you are right, just as being Left doesn't mean you're wrong.Being a right Idiot means being right. Being a Right Idiot means your twice it An idiot doesn't know how they got it right. An righteous idiot doesn't know how.
